It all began when Burt caught a Swarm and started keeping bees. We cooked up some polish receipes we found in old magazines.

We bottled honey and sold beeswax stove, furniture and shoe polish at craft fairs around Maine. By 1992, we were making a half million beeswax candles a year. But we outgrew Guilford and moved to North Caroline in 1994.
