glossary definition:
dead sea minerals:
the dead sea, dead sea minerals
Over 400m below sea level, the waters of the Dead Sea are an ancient source of healing and rejuvenation. The water contains an astounding number of beneficial minerals, including Sodium, Magnesium, Calcium, Bromine, Bitumen and Potassium. At least a dozen of these minerals are found in no other sea or ocean in the world.
For thousands of years the Dead Sea has been a famous spot, with water and salt imported to Italy by Roman nobles. It is rumoured that Mark Anthony conquered the region and presented the Dead Sea as a gift for Cleopatra.
As with many "ancient secrets", scientific evidence is not conclusive, and the benefits to the skin are debatable. |
