Giving back has long been a part of Drs. Lieberman & Parikh’s practice, but the doctors have just announced an official program to provide free facial surgeries for injuries sustained through domestic violence through a partnership with the nonprofit, Next Door Solutions to Domestic Violence.
“Being able to give back to the community is very important us. We have a unique opportunity to remove physical scars or sequelae from abuse,” said Dr. Parikh.
Domestic violence is a significant problem in Santa Clara County and crosses all socioeconomic, ethnic and religious boundaries. An injury can prevent a person from getting a job or continuing with daily activities.
“Even if a person has moved on from trauma, a scar or injury can be a daily reminder of that period in their life. To be able to get rid of the scars can be very powerful for a person,” said Dr. Parikh.
NEXT DOOR SOLUTIONS TO DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

“Their [Lieberman & Parikh] contribution is vital to supporting our agency,” said Kathleen Krenek, Executive Director of Next Door Solutions. “We are grateful for the pro bono services they will be providing to our clients in need of plastic surgery. It is not uncommon for the survivors we serve to have the scars of abuse, and such a service will help provide a new step forward.”
