If fear and anxiety have been keeping you from getting the cosmetic treatments you want, then you’re in luck because L&P now has Pro-Nox!

What Is Pro-Nox™?

Pro-Nox™ is a 50% oxygen / 50% nitrous oxide gas mixture that patients can inhale during treatments to relieve both pain and anxiety. The gas is completely patient-controlled so you can inhale as much or as little as you need whenever you need it. The amount of Pro-Nox required for relief may vary by patient, but this is what makes the self-administered system so helpful.

You’ll start feeling the pain-relieving and anxiety-reducing effects of Pro-Nox 20 seconds after you begin inhaling. But one of our favorite parts about Pro-Nox™ is that it leaves your body five minutes after you stop using it, so you’ll be able to drive yourself home.

Is Pro-Nox Safe?

You’ve probably heard of nitrous oxide, N2O, as it is commonly referred to as laughing gas. And while you’ve also probably heard of people abusing laughing gas, it is not a substance you can take too much of in the short-term. Abuse of N2O only happens when people use it consistently over a long period of time.

In July 2013, the FDA cleared Pro-Nox Nitrous Oxide Delivery System. Since then, no significant complications have been reported.

Which Treatments Can Be Combined With Pro-Nox?

Because Pro-Nox is safe, effective and easy-to-use, it can be combined with almost any nonsurgical treatment but the most common treatments it is used with are Ultherapy, lasers, and injectables such as wrinkle treatments and dermal fillers.

Are There Any Side-Effects To Using Pro-Nox?

While using Pro-Nox, patients may experience temporary delusions or hallucinations or they may feel super relaxed and happy. Some patients say they feel a slight headache or slightly nauseous but these feelings usually dissipate in less than 5 minutes.

Is Pro-Nox Right For Me?

While almost everyone can use Pro-Nox, there may be some people who cannot tolerate N2O, so you should always discuss your complete medical history with your provider before using it.

If you’re interested in using Pro-Nox with your next nonsurgical treatment, give us a call at 650-327-3232 or send us a quick email to schedule a consultation with either of our board-certified facial plastic surgeons or with one of our registered nurse injectors.
