In addition to comprehensive facial aesthetic services, L&P Aesthetics also offers dermatologic evaluation and treatment for various skin conditions and growths.
Aesthetic Skin Condition is a branch of dermatology focused on diagnosing, treating, and managing conditions and diseases related to the skin, hair, and nails. This includes conditions such as acne, eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, skin cancer, infections, autoimmune disorders, hair loss, and more.
Along with cosmetic dermatology, Aesthetic Skin Conditions addresses issues that affect the health and functionality of the skin. We use a variety of diagnostic tools and treatment modalities, including medications, procedures, and lifestyle interventions, to improve the health and well-being of our patients’ skin.
Whether you’re concerned about hyperpigmentation, acne, changes in a mole’s appearance or another skin condition, we’ll work with you to find the best solution. Use our online scheduler to choose your location and provide the time and date that works for you.
Please note that we do not accept any insurance. Medical evaluation for dermatologic conditions require a consultation free that can be put towards treatment. Frequently, patients with medical insurance opt to schedule expedited appointments with our skin experts, bypassing the need to endure lengthy waitlists for evaluation.
We work with our patients to solve their skin concerns, applying the latest research and most advanced technology. Among the medical skin conditions we treat are:

The diagnosis and treatment of skin lesions are important in the prevention of skin cancer. There are also a variety of benign (non-cancerous) skin lesions and other aesthetic skin conditions that can be treated by the aesthetic skin conditions team at L&P Aesthetics.
Moles are common skin lesions that are black or brown spots located on any part of the body. It is important to ensure that the moles/lesions are simply benign and non-cancerous. They can be present from birth or develop over time. Skin lesions can become unsightly or uncomfortable, which are major reasons to seek the expertise of a qualified medical professional to skillfully remove the lesion/mole and improve the appearance of the skin.
Head and neck lipomas are benign tumors made up of fat. They can be found in the scalp, forehead, face, or neck and grow over time to become unsightly and uncomfortable. The three double board-certified facial plastic surgeons at L&P Aesthetics have extensive expertise in head and neck anatomy and utilize meticulous facial plastic surgery techniques to remove these masses while minimizing scarring.
We can perform the removal and treatment of skin lesions and the removal of head and neck lipomas in the office under local anesthesia. If the patient prefers or if the lesions are in sensitive areas, they can be removed under sedation.
The simplest surgical procedure for skin lesions that protrude off the surface of the skin is a shave biopsy. The skin lesion is sliced off flush with the rest of the normal skin in an effort to provide the best possible cosmetic result. This biopsy is then sent to a pathologist who specializes only in the skin for analysis under a microscope.
Larger lesions such as cysts, lipomas or suspicious skin lesions are excised via a surgical excision. This approach involves an incision-oriented design to create a scar that is barely perceptible once healed. The procedure can take anywhere from fifteen minutes to one hour.

Pain tolerance varies from person to person, and the level of discomfort will vary by the location and depth of the treatment. On a scale from 0 to 10, (0 being no pain and 10 being unbearable pain), our patients usually report a 3 to 5 level of discomfort. For the NanoLaserPeel , a topical anesthetic will be applied 30 minutes prior to treatment. For the Contour TRL, our doctors may administer a subcutaneous local anesthetic.

Your skin will probably look like it has been severely sunburned for approximately 3 to 5 days after the NanoLaserPeel and anywhere from 10 days to 4 weeks after a Contour TRL treatment. During this time, your skin may feel raw and have some oozing drainage. Some patients report a tingling, burning, or itching sensation that comes and goes throughout the day.
The top layer of your skin will re-grow and can be covered with makeup in about one week. At this time, you will see noticeable improvements in your skin’s texture, tone and wrinkle appearance*. Deeper laser treatments also stimulate the growth of new collagen over the next 4 to 6 months and oftentimes, the skin may show increasing improvements in tightness and resilience.
Our staff will instruct you on how to care for your skin during the healing process, and you may use ice or pain medication to alleviate any discomfort, but it is critical to stay out of the sun as too much sun could cause permanent, irregular discoloration. You can also refer to this video for step-by-step instructions on how to care for your skin after your laser treatment.
There are minor risks associated with laser skin resurfacing treatments, but negative side effects are very rare, especially in our office where our practitioners are highly trained. Possible side effects can include scarring, infection, abnormal healing, and allergic reactions, all of which our staff will discuss with you prior to your appointment.
Also, we generally recommend that people with darker skin tones do not get a Contour TRL resurfacing treatment because the strength of the laser might cause permanent skin lightening. Better treatments for people with darker tones are the Forever Young BBL™ and Halo Hybrid Laser.
