What to Expect During the Procedure

Your doctor will use a numbing lidocaine injection prior to the treatment so you will most likely not have pain, although there could be some sensation or mild discomfort. But you will be able to talk with your doctor during the treatment and if at any point, it gets too uncomfortable, there are other pain relievers you can discuss. There are few risks with liquid rhinoplasty, but rest assured, your provider at L&P Aesthetics will discuss all the risks prior to treatment. Some temporary side effects may include bruising, swelling, and irritation near the injection site, but these conditions can usually be covered up with make-up.

How Long Will The Results of Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty Last?

Typically a liquid rhinoplasty, or non invasive rhinoplasty, will last between 4-6 months, but it is important that you come back at least every six months for touch-ups to your nose.

Why Should I Trust L&P Aesthetics With My Nose?

Drs. Lieberman, Parikh, and Curti are facial plastic surgeons who have extensive education and experience in cosmetic facial rejuvenation including the deep-plane facelift, the L&P Lift, and surgical rhinoplasty.

As the nose is one of the most complex features of your face, it is important to choose a physician with the experience and expertise to provide safe and natural results. The doctors at L&P Aesthetics perform multiple surgical rhinoplasty procedures every week and at least a dozen liquid rhinoplasties every week.

What Can a Liquid Rhinoplasty Achieve?

Using dermal fillers during a liquid rhinoplasty, your surgeon can make minor adjustments to your nose so that it is symmetric and the elegantly contoured centerpiece of your face. Some of these adjustments include:

  • Camouflaging the nasal hump by adding fillers above and below
  • Adding length to a curved nose so that it appears more symmetrical and balanced
  • Adjusting the nose so it is more defined and slimmer
  • Smoothing irregular contours
  • Augmenting the bridge to improve projection or definition
  • Refining the nasal tip so it is not bulbous, undefined, droopy or asymmetrical
  • Reducing large nostrils adding definition to the bridge or tip of the nose.

Liquid Rhinoplasty FAQs

Not only is a liquid rhinoplasty reversible (if addressed within 24 hours of the injection), but dermal fillers are versatile and effective making it a great treatment for anyone who wants to see what a minor change in the shape of their nose would change their appearance. Here are some of the benefits of the treatment:

  • Not permanent: Because the fillers eventually get reabsorbed by your body, you can feel confident that the result will not last forever
  • Cost: In the short-term, liquid rhinoplasty costs significantly less than traditional rhinoplasty
  • Results: With this non invasive rhinoplasty, you’ll see results almost immediately and won’t need the downtime associated with surgery.

While a liquid rhinoplasty with dermal fillers can be very effective and is a great option for some people, it is important to understand the differences between the nonsurgical and surgical treatments.

Non-surgical rhinoplasty is not permanent and can only make modest improvements to your nose. Typically, liquid rhinoplasty is a good option for people with saddle depression or slight variations on the bridge of the nose.

At L&P Aesthetics, our providers often see patients who have already had a traditional rhinoplasty but past are left with asymmetries. These irregularities can be adjusted with dermal fillers and will prevent the patient from having to undergo another surgery.

However, if you desire a permanent result, want to make dramatic changes to your nose and are comfortable with surgery, then a surgical rhinoplasty with the Bay Area’s best rhinoplasty surgeons, Drs. Lieberman, Parikh, and Curti, is probably the best route. See the before and after images of some of their actual rhinoplasty patients.

Liquid rhinoplasty can smooth small bumps, improve symmetry, lift a drooping nasal tip, and enhance the nose’s overall profile using dermal fillers. It works best for subtle, cosmetic refinements.

It cannot make the nose smaller, narrow the nostrils, or correct major structural problems. It also can’t fix breathing issues or severe deformities.

The procedure usually takes about 15–30 minutes in a single office visit.

Most people experience mild discomfort rather than pain. Numbing cream and fillers with anesthetic help reduce sensation.

Results typically last 6–18 months, depending on the type of filler used and individual metabolism. Follow-up treatments are often recommended in order to maintain results.

Yes, if hyaluronic acid fillers are used, the results can be dissolved. This makes the procedure reversible.

Some swelling or light bruising is possible but usually minimal. Most people can return to normal activities within a day or two.

Often yes, liquid rhinoplasty can refine or balance results after surgical rhinoplasty. It would be best to consult with your surgeon before undergoing a nonsurgical rhinoplasty.

It can improve the appearance of mild crookedness by adding filler for visual balance. It cannot physically straighten the nasal bones.

Yes, many people use it as a “preview” to see how changes might look before committing to surgery. It’s a temporary, less invasive option. If you are looking to get a surgical rhinoplasty, please consult with your doctor before undergoing a nonsurgical rhinoplasty.

Results are visible immediately, though mild swelling may be present. The final look is usually clear within a few days to two weeks.

Non-surgical rhinoplasty uses injectable fillers and is temporary, while traditional rhinoplasty is surgery that permanently reshapes bone and cartilage. Surgery can address more significant changes.

No, it is purely cosmetic. Breathing problems or structural issues require surgical treatment.
