What is a Midline Neck Lift?

The L&P Midline Neck Lift, also known as deep neck contouring, is a powerful procedure that rejuvenates the neckline with minimal incisions and shorter downtime.  Due to the natural-looking and transformative results, people from across the country have sought out this deep neck contouring treatment from the surgeons at L&P Aesthetics.

A good candidate for the L&P Midline Neck Lift is someone with excess skin and fullness around their neck and chin but who have minimal lower face laxity concerns. By removing excess skin, muscle and glands and contouring tissues around the neck and chin, Dr. David Lieberman, Dr. Sachin Parikh, and Dr. Steven Curti are able to reveal the distinct and beautiful features of a neck line with the L&P Midline Neck Lift.

What to Expect During Deep Neck Contouring

Unlike a traditional neck lift where incisions are made around each ear, the L&P Midline Neck Lift requires only a small incision hidden in the crease under the chin. Through this incision, L&P Aesthetic surgeons are able to contour the muscles and deep tissue of the neck to restore a sharper and slender neckline. Depending on the patient’s unique needs, our surgeons may also perform liposuction to reduce excess fat, as well as reduce the bulk of muscles and glands to reshape the neck and add fat in areas where volume is needed.

The L&P Midline Neck Lift (deep neck contouring) is often performed in conjunction with a buccal fat pad reduction to thin the cheeks and accentuate a more slender appearance. Buccal fat pads are naturally occurring fat pads in the cheek area and can be taken out through the inside of the mouth. Additionally, patients may simultaneously proceed with upper facial volume enhancement with either dermal fillers or fat transfer to ensure the most youthful aesthetic balance in the face.

Who Is a Good Candidate For a L&P Midline Neck Lift Surgery?

A good candidate for the L&P Midline Neck Lift is anyone who is bothered by the lack of definition in their jawline and neck. Many patients who come to see Drs. Lieberman, Parikh, and Curti are not even aware that this deep neck contouring procedure exists because it is only performed by a select group of highly skilled surgeons.

Often candidates from the younger demographic (20s, 30s, and 40s) are genetically predisposed to neck fullness and laxity with minimal lower face laxity. There’s no amount of diet or exercise that will help them achieve the look they want. Usually, these patients have good skin elasticity which makes the recovery quicker and results look very natural.

For patients in an older demographic (50s to 70s) with more substantial lower face and cheek laxity, a signature L&P Facelift or other facial procedures to restore an overall youthful appearance may be a better option.

What Is The Cost of a Midline Neck Lift?

Because our three double-board certified surgeons personalize these procedures to each patient’s unique needs and cosmetic goals, you will need to come into our Palo Alto or Los Gatos office for a one-on-one consultation to receive a price estimate for your Midline Neck Lift.

Midline Neck Lift Recovery and Beyond

The L&P Midline Neck Lift is done either under general anesthesia or fully monitored, deep intravenous sedation (without intubation). Either way, you will need a ride home from our surgery center, AAASC.

The exact recovery time for each person is highly variable and depends on your level of health and general outlook. Typically, L&P patients return to daily activities, including returning to work, within one to two weeks after the deep neck contouring procedure.

Immediately after the L&P Midline Neck Lift, you should expect your neck to feel tight and to see some bruising and swelling. These normal side-effects should subside gradually, with the bruising going away after one to two weeks, and the “tight” feeling remaining for up to several weeks. Your surgeon will send you home with detailed and personalized instructions for recovery and aftercare.
