Case Details
Performed by Steven Curti, MD – This patient is just shy of six months out from her rhinoplasty, and as you can see in her before and after photos, the transformation is already very noticeable.
One question I get frequently from patients considering a nose job is about swelling, and it’s important to understand that swelling is completely normal, even months after surgery.
Rhinoplasty is a meticulous procedure, and you need time to fully settle into your new shape. Most of the initial swelling resolves within the first few weeks, but subtle swelling can linger for many months, particularly at the tip. This doesn’t mean anything is wrong, it’s simply your body’s natural healing process. By six months, you can already see the majority of the changes, but final refinement can continue up to a year post op.
It’s also common for patients to be concerned that swelling is hiding the true result or that their nose looks uneven. In reality, the subtle residual swelling is part of the natural process, and the changes over the coming months only enhance the definition and overall balance of the nose.
Rhinoplasty is about more than just aesthetics; it’s about creating facial harmony while respecting the natural anatomy. Even at this stage, you can see how her nose complements her features while maintaining a natural, effortless look.
